A little bit about us …..

Our Values and Aims are to promote the many benefits walking and been in nature has on us all. Share our passion and love of the countryside and empower others to get out and explore and show how and why we need to respect and protect our environment for the future.

We feel its important you know us and what we are about so please read on and get to know us a bit more personally. Marc – Growing up I was always outside up in the local woods making rope swings and hay jumps, climbing trees if I couldn’t be found in the woods you could bet I was down at the beck making dams, splashing about and seeing who could make the jump across without falling in. Then I found bikes and would ride until we couldn’t ride any further, and playing in the streets until the lights came on, 90 percent of my time was outside. I guess my love of the outdoors stems from there. It wasn’t until my early 30s that I really became more and more outdoorsy enjoying most outdoor activities. My full time job is a maintenance officer on Public Rights Of Way in Leeds, managing the maintenance of the PROW network. I am an experienced walker and hold the NNAS Silver award and have undertook other relevant courses and training, I am a qualified Hill And Moorland Leader and hold a Outdoor First Aid qualification. During the last 9 years I have gained a passion for wild camping, hiking and exploring nature the aforementioned with our young boy.

The more I spend outside in nature the more my enthusiasm and passion grows and my aim is to help, encourage and enable other people to enjoy walking and been out in nature and see the benefits as much as we do.

Katie – Katie’s background is childcare and teaching but now currently running her own business childminding with the aim to be able to spend as much time as possible with our son and help with our childcare. With Katie’s teaching experience and love of the outdoors and mine we hope to be able to bring Coben our son up to experience and value the great outdoors as much if not more than we do. Katie has past experience of camping and the outdoors from her time as a Beaver leader and attended many camps and outdoor events educating and supervising the young adventurers.

Since we met we have explored and adventured together ,we did the first wild camp for both of us together, bought our first campervan together, travelled a little bit and intend to do much more with our little old boy in tow.

Mika – We cant not mention Mika who is a big part of our family she is a German Shepherd and was Katie’s dog before I met her, she is now at present 12 years old and loves camping and coming away in the van, she’s a friendly dog and still has her puppy side to her which can be embarrassing at times especially when people find out she’s 12 and we cant blame her daftness on her age. She accompanies us just about everywhere even though she is slowing down a little she is still up for climbing and clambering mountains and hiking across the Dales and Moors.
