Route Details


1 – Leave the the campsite through the gate to the East of the toilet block onto the access road turn left and follow this for 1 mile until you reach a road (parking is available in Elterwater where you can pick up the walk)

2 – Turn left on the road and walk 100metres or so until you see a carpark on your right and a signpost. Go through the gate and follow the path meandering alongside a stream and then this will take you an open area next to Elterwater itself, perfect for a picnic and photo opportunity.

3 – continue along here to Skelwith bridge passing the falls and ending at the hotel for a drink or bite to eat. Head back the way you came into Elterwater Village have a wander around grab an icecream or drink . Head back out with the carpark on your left over the bridge and turn right immediately and follow the bridleway with the stream on your right.

4 – Go over the bridge on your right, through a gate turn left, pass the pub (or call in) look for the footpath signposted on your left, follow this until you reach a track turn left go over the bridge and you will find yourself back in the campsite.
