TheOutdoorsFamilyuk rating 3/5 This walk has a variety of terrain from moorland, tracks and woodland. We give it a moderate grading due to the length mostly. Along this walk you will visit Skelton Tower with its fantastic views over the North Yorkshire Railway and if your lucky you may see the steam engine cutting through the valley below.

You will then visit the Hole Of Horcum locally referred to as the “Devil’s Punchbowl,” as the myth has it that this depression was formed when a giant named Wade hurled a clump of earth during a argument with his wife and this is what it created. Either way its truly magnificent to see and venture through. You will cut through woodland along boardwalks and over bridges before arriving back at your start point.

There are many options to have a picnic, Skelton Tower offers the view over the railway and gives shelter or the Hole Of Horcum offers plenty of options and of course there is the pub at the finish point to grab some warm food and drinks if thats what you fancy.
