Upon arriving at Caerau campsite we were immediately surprised by the large open field you drive past to head to reception and Coben was immediately impressed by the pirate ship playground he spotted !

Reception was closed up but a ring of the bell, someone came swiftly and booked us in, explained where things were and where we could pitch, which was basically anywhere 🙂
A cafe and shop are on site but we didn’t see it open while we were there but my understanding is they will open it at your request if its closed, just ring the bell.

We drove back towards the large field then drove into the other field available which was even bigger than the first one.
We picked a nice elevated spot and we could just about see the sea. There were only a few others here which was surprising as it was the school holidays. We more or less had the whole field to ourselves.

There is only a small block of toilets male and female with 2 cubicles in both, but these were immaculately clean and smart.
A small hut with washing up facilities and water tap are positioned centrally to both fields.
Sadly no showers as yet here which we didnt realise when booking, but it looked like showers were in the process of been built on our visit.

A nice touch is a large communal fire pit in the centre where you can socialise and meet new people if you fancied or if there’s a few of you it’s ideal.

As mentioned there’s a nice little playground on site, perfect for occupying the kids which Coben enjoyed.

However due to the size of the field and few people he enjoyed the freedom the space gave him to run around , kick his football and chase bubbles, after all that is what campings about isn’t it ? The freedom of the outdoors surrounded by nature 🙂

We were we given a leaflet upon arrival with all the details on it and also featured a nice hand drawn map of the site, and details of how to access the beach which is only a 10 min walk away. We thought his was a really nice touch.
We enjoyed 3 nights here, it is a campsite we would visit again.

Caerau Campsite is perfect as a base to explore Anglesey, it is very relaxing, informal and set in beautiful countryside.
